Leicester City are looking to add to their weak squad before the close of the January transfer window.

The Foxes are fighting for their life at the bottom end of the Premier League table under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Leicester City have now lost seven league games on the spin, with it already looking like a swift return to the Championship is nailed on.

Their best chance of survival at present surely rests on a very productive end to the 2025 winter transfer window.

Woyo Coulibably has arrived at the King Power Stadium but it will take more than the right-back to sure up their backline.

Leicester have one of the worst defensive records in the top flight this season, with it clear more additions are needed.

Leicester City scouting Nasser Djiga

On this front, it looks as though the Midlands outfit are actively trying to improve.

Reports emerged this week that Leicester are targeting Strahinja Pavlovic, who is currently plying his trade in Italy with AC Milan.

Now, another central defender in the form of Nasser Djiga has been linked with a move.

Mozzart Sport have claimed that Leicester scouts watched Djiga during a Champions League meeting against Van Nistelrooy’s old club, PSV Eindhoven, on January 21st.

However, there is tough competition for the stopper, with Premier League trio Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brentford also interested in him.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report but his current market value is €7m.

What Leicester City fans need to know about Nasser Djiga

The 22-year-old joined current club Red Star Belgrade permanently in July 2024 from FC Basel after a successful loan spell.

Djiga has so far made a total of 55 appearances for the Serbian outfit, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Nine of those outings have come in the Champions League this season, including his latest against PSV.

The eight-time capped international excelled on the night and was named in Sofascore’s Champions League Team of the Week as a result.
