Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been linked with a shock move to a Premier League rival.

Jamie Vardy continues to show that age is just a number as the Leicester City forward has fired in seven Premier League goals this term.

Although only one of them has come in his previous eight matches, Ruud van Nistelrooy is still reliant on his striker in front of goal.

This weekend, Leicester host Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime. Vardy has more goals against Arsenal than any other club, scoring 11 in just 17 meetings with the Gunners.

Van Nistelrooy will be desperate for his talisman to produce more magic in the fixture as the possibility of him departing continues to be a talking point.

Man United linked with shock move for Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy

Vardy, 38, sees his Leicester contract expire in June 2025. Right now, it isn’t known whether the Englishman will sign fresh terms, and it could depend on whether the Foxes suffer relegation.

According to The Athletic, Premier League giants Manchester United could eye a shock move for the veteran striker alongside Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The report suggests that United could be tempted to look at the free agent market, and with both Vardy and Calvert-Lewin seeing their contracts expire, their names have been mentioned.

That being said, it is claimed that signing someone like Vardy would go against their plan of investing in youth, especially since the Leicester forward is approaching the end of his career.

Man United also interested in Leicester’s Mads Hermansen

The Vardy link is certainly far-fetched and is unlikely to happen. On the other hand, Man United have also scouted Mads Hermansen in recent months.

Hermansen has wowed Leicester fans with his performances this term before his injury, which he returned from in the 4-0 loss to Everton.

The Danish international has statistically been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this term, catching the eye of many with his superb reflex saves and distribution.

Hermansen is a highly ambitious player and wants to win titles, something that he won’t achieve at Leicester and would have more of a chance to fulfil his goal at Old Trafford.

It’s even been suggested that Hermansen could be sold to satisfy PSR and should the Foxes suffer relegation, the 24-year-old’s next move is one to keep an eye on.
