Leicester City are still exploring a number of options in the winter transfer window.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is desperate to add to this squad before the deadline on February 3rd and it’s understood the club are eyeing a striker and wide player.

Ajax’s Chuba Akpom is on Leicester’s radar, though, they’re facing competition from Marseille and Championship promotion hopefuls Sunderland.

The Foxes are also eyeing Troyes winger Cyriaque Irie, who is enjoying a productive season in France’s second tier.

Now it’s just come to light that Leicester are in the race to sign another winger on the continent and a winner has just been named.

Como beat Leicester in race to sign Jonathan Ikone

According to L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, Como have moved ahead of Leicester, Bologna and Nantes in the race to sign Fiorentina winger Jonathan Ikone.

In fact, Tanzi claims that Como have already reached an agreement with their Serie A rivals and a medical will take place either tomorrow or Friday.

The deal is set to be an initial loan with an option to buy worth around £6.7m for the four-cap France international.

Clearly, that shows the kind of market Leicester are fishing in this month, with finances tight after the sacking of Steve Cooper earlier this season.

Leicester should turn to Adam Daghim

Leicester have been credited with an interest in Adam Daghim this week.

With Ikone now off the table, perhaps they could turn their attention to the promising young RB Salzburg winger.

Daghim, who turned 19 in September, has netted four times this season and is a regular in the Champions League.

Daghim is also on the radar of Leeds United.
