Jeremy Monga call made and formation change… Leicester City predicted lineup vs Brighton

Leicester City fans will be expecting to face more misery this weekend when they take on European-chasing Brighton.

An embarrassing run of form has seen Leicester fail to score in eight home matches, setting a Premier League record in the process.

More alarmingly, the Foxes have also lost eight games on the bounce in the league, last scoring in their 2-1 victory over Tottenham in January.

With relegation nailed on and Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future in doubt, there is little for City supporters to get excited about of late.

However, the emergence of several talented youngsters from the Leicester academy have at least made people feel a sense of delight about the future.

Leicester City predicted XI vs Brighton

In Leicester’s 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United, 15-year-old Jeremy Monga made his debut, coming on for the final 14 minutes.

It was refreshing to see someone in a Foxes shirt give it their all on the pitch and supporters are now hoping he starts this weekend.

Ahead of the clash at the AMEX, Van Nistelrooy has hinted at a change in formation after suggesting the availability of Ricardo Pereira allows him to play with wingers.

Since the loss to Chelsea in March, the Dutchman has used a three-man defence, and that experiment must end as Leicester have failed to score in eight matches.

A change to a formation with wingers, perhaps reverting to their previous 4-3-3 system, could see Monga slot into the left wing position with Pereira being used as a right-back.

Those are the two key changes Leicester should make this weekend, with Patson Daka and James Justin dropping out.

As for absences, Wout Faes picked up a small injury in training and could miss the match while Facundo Buonanotte is unavailable due to playing against his parent club.

So, with all that said, here’s how Leicester could lineup.

Time for Jeremy Monga to shine

There’s nothing for Leicester to play for this term, and naturally, that should lead to youngsters being given a chance.

Monga already embarrassed his Leicester teammates in training this week, performing on par if not, exceeding his peers with his strengths.

And next season, if he the teenager remains at the King Power Stadium, he could play a prominent role in the Championship.

It’s been reported that Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Monga, and though Leicester are confident of keeping the young winger, only playing him regularly will persuade him to stay.

Since the likes of Bobby De Cordova Reid, Stephy Mavididi, and Patson Daka have underperformed in attacking areas, the 2009-born star could have a chance to show them all up this weekend.
