Wout Faes ‘not good enough’ and no players score higher than 5/10… Leicester City player ratings vs Man United

Leicester City were toothless once again as they were beaten by Manchester United.

Rasmus Hojlund ended a run of 21 games without a goal in the first half to give the visitors the lead after some more woeful defending from Leicester.

Alejandro Garnacho made sure of the three points with a second half strike before Bruno Fernandes added a third that condemned Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side to seven home league games without a goal or any points.

Meanwhile, Leicester fans continued to protest against Jon Rudkin on what proved to be another difficult night at the King Power Stadium.

With nine games to go, Leicester are nine points adrift in the bottom three and a return to the Championship seems to a matter of when, rather than if.

Here’s how the Leicester players fared.

Leicester City player ratings vs Man United

Mads Hermansen – 5

Feel sorry for Hermansen who is clearly a cut above the rest of his teammates but can’t bail them out forever.

James Justin – 4

Was inevitable Justin would start after Ricardo Pereira’s absence was confirmed and in all honesty, wasn’t too bad.

Wout Faes – 3

Let Hojlund in far too easily for his goal and it just about sums up his season. Positionally all over the place and simply not good enough.

Conor Coady – 4

Leicester are seriously lacking leaders and Conor Coady should be one of those. Lots of talking and shouting but ultimately part of a side who failed to keep another clean sheet and

Luke Thomas – 5

Played out of position but looked the most competent defender once again. One of the few Leicester players who can have a bit of pride.

Victor Kristiansen – 4

Better than his performance against Chelsea but still not good enough and allowed Garnacho to cut inside and score.

Wilfred Ndidi – 4

Seemed to move out wide a lot during the game but his delivery of crosses into the box needs some serious work. Didn’t really stand out once

Boubakary Soumare – 5

Was alright in small doses but did give the ball away far too cheaply on two occasions.

Bilal El Khannouss – 4

Very quiet from El Khannouss which doesn’t help for a side lacking in creativity when the only player likely to conjure something up isn’t firing.

Patson Daka – 4

Another week, another game where you’re left wondering what Patson Daka actually contributed? Had one half chance but struggle to recall him on the ball in any other part of the game.

Jamie Vardy – 4

Made a couple of runs in behind but the Man United fans who mocked Vardy will certainly have the last laugh after watching that.

Substitutes

Facundo Buonanotte – 5

Squandered a great chance after Vardy laid it on a plate for him. Not likely to force his way into the starting XI any time soon.

Harry Winks – 4

Came on but really didn’t do anything of note and it explains why he’s gone from being first name on the team sheet to substitute.

Jordan Ayew – N/A

Stephy Mavididi – N/A

Kasey McAteer – N/A
