Leicester City are in the process of identifying a replacement for Steve Cooper.

After Cooper’s sacking at Leicester, a number of managers around the English game and abroad have been mooted to take charge at King Power Stadium.

Graham Potter, Ruud van Nistelrooy, David Moyes and Carlos Coberan have all been linked over the last 72 hours.

Potter has already turned down the Leicester job, whilst reports suggest David Moyes isn’t under consideration by the hierarchy.

Leicester fans aren’t convinced by van Nistelrooy, either, so it’s all still very much up in the air ahead of the clash against Brentford this weekend.

Now, a BBC pundit has just tipped a fresh new name to be very interested in taking the vacant Leicester job.

Danny Rohl tipped to be interested in Leicester job

BBC pundit Rob Staton believes Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl would be a ‘great fit’ for Leicester and thinks he’d be interested in taking the job.

“I’d be surprised if he wouldn’t be tempted,” Staton explained.

“Danny Rohl is an ambitious manager, and it’s a Premier League job, so I think most managers in the Championship would be looking at that and thinking; if there was a chance to go there, they would seriously consider it.

“I think he would be a great fit for Leicester City. I’d suspect he probably won’t get the job, that they’ll go for somebody else.”

Rohl would be a major risk

Rohl managed to keep Sheffield Wednesday up last season against all the odds and it looks like he may be able to replicate that achievement once again, earning him the ‘mastermind’ label.

It’s evident the German is a great coach as he continues to overperform under difficult circumstances, though, he’d still be a massive risk given his lack of experience.

And, given City are expected to be in a relegation fight this term, they can’t really afford to take a gamble – certainly not to this degree.

Rohl probably needs to take a job at the upper end of the Championship before he’s ready to make the step to the top flight.
