Leicester City face Crystal Palace on Wednesday night in a huge game for their Premier League survival hopes.

Leicester stopped the run of five consecutive defeats with a thumping victory against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup and will hope to carry that momentum over to Wednesday’s fixture.

The Foxes face a resurgent Palace team who have impressed of late and managed to pull themselves further away from the bottom three.

Jannik Vestergaard is expected to return for Leicester after missing the weekend win through injury.

There will also be eyes on whether or not Ruud van Nistelrooy chooses to include Tom Cannon after he was recalled from his loan at Stoke City.

Speaking of loans, Palace have been dealt a huge blow in preparation for tonight’s game at the King Power Stadium thanks to the assistance of former Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca.

Trevor Chalobah recalled by Chelsea hours before Crystal Palace face Leicester

Loan recalls are becoming a common theme in this transfer window, with Leicester also recalling Sammy Braybrooke this week.

Now, according to The Athletic, Trevor Chalobah has been recalled by Chelsea before Palace’s trip to the East Midlands.

David Ornstein has confirmed that the centre-back will return to Stamford Bridge immediately and is set to become a key part of their squad for the second half of the season.

Chalobah had been a key part of Palace’s defence this season and now the Eagles will have to rethink their selection ahead of tonight’s game.

Crystal Palace boss impressed by Leicester trio

Tonight’s game is Leicester’s biggest of the season without a doubt.

A win will see the Foxes remain within the chasing pack and believe that Premier League survival is well and truly on.

Defeat, however, leaves them with a mountain to climb – especially if teams around them pick up wins too.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner has highlighted three Leicester players that could expose his side and given that he will now be missing a first-team regular, he will be extra cautious going into the game.

“They have wingers with pace, like [Stephy] Mavididi. El Khannouss has signed for more than 20 million, a very creative player,” Glasner told Palace’s official website.

“Jamie Vardy is one of the top scorers in the last decade in the Premier League. So it’s a good team, a good mixture between experience and young and talented, high-challenging players. It’s a little challenging, but again, we feel very good.”
