Jeremy Monga has burst onto the scene at Leicester City this season, but the teenager’s future is already in doubt.

Jeremy Monga is the hottest prospect in the club’s youth ranks right now, and despite only being 15, already looks set for a bright stint in the game.

Monga was named as a sub against Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round last month, though he did not get off the bench.

However, while he’s yet to make his senior debut for the club and is not in full Leicester City training due to school, the young midfielder’s future is obviously bright.

Recently, one analyst claimed that it’s inevitable Monga will attract transfer interest, and that is already coming true.

Leicester City fans react to prospect of Jeremy Monga joining Manchester City

Rumours that Chelsea were interested in Monga emerged last month, and it now appears that Manchester City are leading the race for the Leicester gem.

As we covered on Wednesday, Man City were pondering a move for the Foxes youngster and a new update on the situation has now emerged on March 6th.

A report from the Daily Mail claimed that the Sky Blues are now looking to seal a deal for the 15-year-old Englishman, which will likely have to go through a tribunal process

After the report from the Mail emerged on Thursday, Leicester fans have taken to social media to make their feelings very clear.

One fan wrote: “Tears he’s going to leave for pennies before we’ve even seen him play for us”.

A second added: “There is no other league in the world in any sport where one team can poach another team’s kids. This is why teams like Man City stay at the top and why teams like LCFC stay at the bottom. It’s profoundly pathetic. The whole idea is to prevent teams like LCFC from competing.”

“If we let him go we are ——,” another simply stated, while a fourth Leicester fan added: “—- we should just give him some minutes, he could be a generational talent.”

A fifth exclaimed: “I knew it!!! Always the same these days! Homegrown talent, one we really could do with, and it looks strongly like he will NEVER play for us!!!”

While another Foxes supporter wrote: “We will not see anything like him again for many years. What a shame.”

What Ruud van Nistelrooy said about Jeremy Monga’s Leicester City future

Leicester have become accustomed to losing their best players to ‘bigger’ clubs in recent years.

N’Golo Kante left for Chelsea in the summer of 2016 despite the Foxes winning the Premier League title the season prior, and Riyad Mahrez, of course, swapped the Midlands for Manchester City as well.

The teenager isn’t at their level just yet but his exit could prove to be just a big a blow given his obvious potential.

Ruud van Nistelrooy commented on Monga’s future in January and made his plans for the forward clear.

He said: “Jeremy is a great talent that for me is a vital part of the future of this club. We’re looking to start conversations to keep him at the club. It’s important for me that that can work out. We’re planning that.”
