Leicester City’s transfer window is beginning to take shape as Ruud van Nistelrooy prepares for several incomings and outgoings.
Leicester are close to completing the signing of Woyo Coulibaly from Serie A side Parma. The 25-year-old will provide competition for James Justin at right-back.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will then switch his focus towards signing a centre-back, winger and striker as the Foxes aim to secure Premier League survival.
However, their plans to sign a striker may have changed after Leicester recalled Tom Cannon from his Stoke City loan.
Cannon was sent to the Potters in the summer and he’s been a revelation ever since, plundering 11 goals in 25 Championship appearances this term.
For months, Leicester fans have urged the club to recall Cannon, and now those supporters have been granted their wish.

Leicester City fans want Tom Cannon to stay amid transfer interest
The deadline to cut short his loan was at midnight on Wednesday the 15th of January and Leicester have just announced that they’ve activated his recall option.
It remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old bundles his way into van Nistelrooy’s plans, although it appears the Republic of Ireland international could be sold.
Sunderland are ready to table a £13m to sign Cannon, who is also being admired by Sheffield United.
That being said, Leicester fans have urged the hierarchy to keep the young striker at the club despite him not boasting top-flight experience.
“Keep stay at Leicester and playing under Rudd,” one supporter said.
“SAVE US,” another responded amid the clubs’ recent goal-scoring troubles in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, one fan believes he’s better than wantaway striker Patson Daka, writing: “Hope we keep him. Is better than Daka and hasn’t been given a fair chance to prove himself.”
“Yes great news, can we send Daka to Stoke now,” another agreed.
“Stoke fans have took that well. Genuinely hope this is to give him a chance though and not just sell on,” a sixth replied.
“We must keep him now, don’t sell,” a seventh said.
What Ruud van Nistelrooy has said about Tom Cannon
Van Nistelrooy has hinted at Leicester signing players this week, and they could look to cash in on Cannon as a result.
The Dutchman hinted at the striker leaving the club in the January transfer window, with van Nistelrooy sharing his verdict on Cannon in Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“He’s one on the list for us. We keep a close eye on him. Tom’s situation is closely assessed. There are decisions to be made on that. It’s still a possibility [he stays at Stoke]. But we’re looking at what is best for his situation and what is best for the club,” the Leicester manager said.
So, whilst many supporters want him to stay, the clinical forward could be sold to raise extra funds to spend this month.
