Tottenham will be out for revenge against Leicester after some fans created a banner mocking the 2015/16 title race, in which the Foxes beat Spurs to the Premier League crown.

Ange Postecoglou has been given a vote of confidence by the hosts and it seems that Ruud van Nistelrooy will need one too after a scathing report revealed some of Leicester’s problems behind the scenes.

Van Nistelrooy will still have four key men out for the must-win game against Spurs and if one opposition player’s social media activity is anything to go by, the Dutchman may have an incline at what sort of team he will face.

Tottenham team news: James Maddison set to start as trio doubtful for Leicester clash

Spurs have been handed a triple injury worry after it was revealed that Djed Spence, and midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr are all doubful.

It’s the story of Tottenham’s season, who are without a host of first-team regulars across all positions.

One player who does look like he will start is former Leicester midfielder James Maddison.

The Tottenham number 10 posted to his Instagram story a pre-match graphic ahead of today’s game, which usually implies that he will be starting.

Maddison played in the 1-1 draw between Leicester and Spurs on the opening day of the season and has scored nine goals from 31 games in all competitions.

James Maddison ‘proud’ to have played for Leicester City

During his time at the King Power Stadium, Maddison often lit up the pitch with his dazzling performances.

His time ended on a sour note as he was part of the Leicester side to be relegated from the top flight.

In his five years on Filbert Way, Maddison won the FA Cup, played in Europe and made his England debut and will always have precious memories.

Upon departing the club in 2023, he said: “Leicester City family, I arrived as a 21-year-old boy and left as a 26-year-old man.

“Five seasons and 203 appearances later my journey with this special football club has come to an end.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for accepting me and allowing me to flourish and be myself. I’ll never forget that.

“Every single time I got to pull that number 10 shirt over my head and represent Leicester City FC was a proud moment. An emotional and heartfelt goodbye. Love from Madders.”
