Leicester’s loanees have been a small bright spot in a pretty dismal season for the Foxes.
There are several players enjoying successful loan spells away from the King Power Stadium, with the most high-profile of those Hamza Choudhary, impressing at Sheffield United in the Championship.
Will Alves has also thrived in the EFL after securing a deadline day move to Cardiff City – in what has arguably been Leicester’s most successful loan so far this season.
Despite his early success in Wales, Alves was recently hit with an injury scare after limping off against Plymouth – only two years after a serious knee injury.
Thankfully for both Leicester and Alves, it seems like his injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

Cardiff boss says Will Alves will return soon
Having managed only 37 minutes of football for Leicester during the first half of the season, the Cardiff loan came at the perfect time for Alves.
The youngster has enjoyed a bright start in the Welsh capital, picking one assist in four appearances, so Alves would have been fearing the worst when he picked up an injury against Plymouth.
With that being said though, Cardiff manager Omer Riza has since played down fears of another serious injury telling fans that Alves could return against Burnley.
“Will Alves will potentially be back in the squad. We need to get back in training, train on Sunday and Monday and re-assess everything for the game on Tuesday,” via WalesOnline.
Alves could thrive for Leicester next season
With the stats saying that Leicester will be relegated, the Foxes may have already started planning for life in the Championship next season.
One player in particular who should definitely be in their plans, is Alves – with his bright performances in the EFL suggesting he could make an impact at the King Power.
| Will Alves Cardiff stats 24/25 | Apps | Goals | Assists | Minutes played |
| Championship | 3 | – | 1 | 196′ |
| FA Cup | 1 | – | – | 38′ |
Despite his limited minutes so far, Cardiff fans have been impressed by Alves, with his display’s on the wing catching the eye of supporters.
With that in mind, and the likely departure of Bilal El Khannouss also on the cards. The Foxes may be wise to hand the opportunity to one of their own next season.
