Leicester fans have made their feelings known about Lee Carsley after Steve Cooper’s sacking

Leicester City are three days removed from the sacking of manager Steve Cooper.

And yet, the search to appoint Cooper’s successor is still ongoing ahead of Leicester’s clash against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Graham Potter has already turned down the Leicester job whilst David Moyes isn’t thought to be on the shortlist.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been approached by The Foxes, though, there’s been no suggestion of talks progressing.

England boss Lee Carsley has also emerged as a contender for Leicester and now fans are reacting to the possible appointment.

Leicester fans don’t want Lee Carsley

Leicester fans have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts on Lee Carsley after it emerged that he was a contender to replace Cooper.

“What a horrendous idea for a team in a relegation scrap,” @joeydra1 replied to the rumour.

@struttingfox added: “If this happens I’ll have to start a campaign to ‘Bring Back Cooper’.”

“Absolutely no. Ruud Van Nistelrooy or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,” @RAY9O2 said.

@ajwatchLCFC posted: “Terrible appointment his only achievement was to lose badly against Greece at home and then to win two other games. He is a worse option than Steve Cooper.”

“The worst available candidate. So will be our next manager,” @burtmcneill said.

“Not a bad shout but too relationist which may not work without the right players,” @NgorongoroBoy explained.

Carsley would be a massive risk

Carsley has never managed at club level before, so to walk into a team fighting against relegation mid-season would indeed be a major risk.

That’s not something the club can afford to take right now as they enter the busy festive period with a tough run of fixtures coming up.

So, perhaps the search for a new manager will go on, though, time is really ticking now before Leicester return to Premier League action.
