Mads Hermansen is set to be at the centre of interest from clubs around England and Europe this summer.
Hermansen has been endorsed by Kasper Schmeichel as his future replacement in the Danish national team and is considered to be a ‘wildcard option’ for Premier League sides.
Jakub Stolarczyk has proved to be a steady back-up but with Leicester City set to return to the second tier and lose Hermansen, a new goalkeeper will be required.
The Championship is home to plenty of top talented shot-stoppers and given that the Foxes will be one of the favourites to go up, will present an attractive opportunity and gateway to the top flight.
With that, here are three goalkeepers that Leicester could target.

James Beadle – Brighton & Hove Albion (on loan at Sheffield Wednesday)
An England U21 international, James Beadle would not only fit home-grown criteria, but he would also be a great piece of business.
Beadle has spent the last two seasons on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and was a huge part in guiding the Owls to safety under Danny Rohl last year.
The 20-year-old hasn’t been as consistent this term but, with a better defence in front of him and plenty of experience under his belt already, he could be a shrewd addition.
Max O’Leary – Bristol City
Bristol City are enjoying a stellar season and Liam Manning has the Robins in the hunt for a play-off place. A big part of that success has been goalkeeper Max O’Leary.
After learning his trade in the lower leagues with Shrewsbury Town, O’Leary has come back and cemented his place in the first-team, earning a solid 10 clean sheets this campaign.
Crucially, O’Leary’s contract is up in 2026 at Ashton Gate and if the Foxes are struggling financially, could be seen as a good budget option with enough quality to have them challenging at the top.
Leicester fans may also remember his massive save from a Jamie Vardy effort from last season, as seen below.
Anthony Patterson – Sunderland
No doubt the most ambitious of the targets, but what a coup Anthony Patterson would be.
Patterson has been scouted by the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur thanks to his exceptional performances for Sunderland.
His availability would very much depend on whether or not the Black Cats secure promotion to the top flight.

He would also be the most expensive of the three options by some distance, with Sunderland likely to consider Leicester as a direct promotion rival if they don’t get promoted.
One bargaining tool the Foxes could bring to the table is Kasey McAteer after Sunderland’s £10m bid was rejected for the Republic of Ireland international back in January.
