Leicester City have been left with a weak squad after their January failures but one man is still unlikely to ever grace the pitch for them again.
With relegation looming and a new manager having just arrived, Leicester City were expected to be active in the most recent transfer window.
However, despite Ruud van Nistelrooy wanting four players brought to the club, the Foxes ended February 3rd with just one signing and a very angry set of supporters.
Leicester need to get rid of Jon Rudkin if they are to have any hope of steering their ship back in the right direction but in reality, that seems unlikely.
What will now instead happen is Van Nistelrooy will have to try and pull off the impossible and get this weak team out of the relegation zone before May.
With so little activity in January, the Dutchman can’t be picking about which players he chooses, with Luke Thomas likely to see more playing time for the Midlands outfit in the coming months despite his previous lack of minutes and transfer interest over the winter.

Leicester City man unlikely to play again this season
But while Ruud’s options are now very limited for the rest of 2024/25, one man is unlikely to line out for the Dutchman ever again.
The player in question is Odsonne Edouard, who has endured a nightmare stint at the King Power Stadium.
Edouard turned down an Atlanta United move last month despite Crystal Palace being willing to sell the striker.
As a result, the Foxes have been forced to keep the forward on loan for the rest of 2024/25, preventing them from completing another Premier League loan signing in January.
Despite staying put, however, it’s hard to see Van Nisrelrooy giving the 27-year-old any minutes before he eventually returns to Selhurst Park.

Odsonne Edouard Leicester City stats are woeful
Prior to moving to Leicester, Edouard had enjoyed stints at the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic.
Throughout his career, the centre-forward has managed to notch 117 goals and 45 assists in 330 outings.
A very respectable return but his Leicester stats leave much to be desired.
Edouard has made eight appearances for the relegation-threatened team but has only been on the pitch for 227 minutes, failing to score or assist.
Since Van Nistelrooy took over, meanwhile, he’s been left out of every Premier League matchday squad barring the Boxing Day clash with Liverpool, in which he didn’t make it off the bench.
It’s clear Ruud is not a fan and even with Leicester’s lack of attacking options, he looks set to snub Edouard for the remainder of his loan spell.
