Leicester City face new transfer setback as loanee turns down £15m MLS move

Leicester City haven’t had much luck in the transfer window and it’s showing no signs of improving.

We’re 23 days into the window now and only one player has joined Leicester.

The player in question was Woyo Coulibaly, signed for a lowly £3m fee that suggests he won’t be a marquee signing by any means.

Defenders have been linked, most recently Strahinja Pavlovic, who could leave AC Milan and to help facilitate further moves, the Foxes have taken out a bank loan.

Having said all that, Leicester look like they will only sign loan players in January which shows how cash-strapped they really are.

Outgoings would go a long way to help with that, but one player is proving harder to shift than first imagined.

Crystal Palace transfer news: Odsonne Edouard turns down Atlanta United move

Odsonne Edouard is someone Leicester are desperate to get rid of.

Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to cancel Edouard’s loan deal but Crystal Palace are in no rush to bring him back unless they can sell him permanently.

MLS outfit Atlanta United bidded £15m for Edouard last week but according to journalist Edmund Brack, Edouard has turned down the chance to go Stateside.

Atlanta also wanted Leicester targets Miguel Almiron and Emmanuel Latte Lath but both aren’t easy deals to complete.

Odsonne Edouard is creating Leicester City a huge transfer problem

The signing of Edouard has to go down as one of the worst pieces of business from the Foxes this season.

Edouard is being paid an eye-watering amount by Leicester and hasn’t featured in over two months for the strugglers.

Premier League rules dictate that clubs can only sign a maximum of two players from clubs in the same division.

As well as Edouard, Leicester have Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and there is no way they’ll cancel that deal.

This restricts Van Nistelrooy, who has been linked with Manchester United players he knows well to bring to the King Power Stadium.

It’s a messy situation that must be resolved quickly.
