Leicester City’s January transfer plans are taking shape and Ruud van Nistelrooy may use his contacts book to bolster the squad.
The Foxes will have money to spend but given the ongoing concerns in regards to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, cheaper deals may be explored.
It’s clear that defensive options are being targeted by Leicester, who have conceded the joint-most amount of goals (42) in the top flight this season.
Adilson Malanda is one defender linked to Leicester after impressing in the MLS for Charlotte FC whilst Valentin Gomez is another target for the Foxes.
But, with the January window shorter than the summer one, quick and easy deals need to be brought in to bolster the team and one club Van Nistelrooy knows better than anyone else is Manchester United.

Leicester City eye up Man United loan deals in January transfer window
According to the Daily Mail, Leicester have reportedly made contact with Man United about the possibility of loaning in two stars from Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy joined United in the summer as part of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff before stepping up to become the club’s interim manager after the Dutchman was sacked.
Although his time was brief, the 48-year-old knows the squad well and given his relationship with the club, would stand a good chance of being able to bring a star to the club.
Victor Lindelof was linked with Leicester earlier in the year while there had also been talks of an emotional return to the Foxes for Harry Maguire.

Toby Collyer
The Sun reported earlier this year that Man United youngster Toby Collyer could be brought to the King Power Stadium by Van Nistelrooy.
Collyer is highly-rated by the Leicester manager and featured under the Dutchman during his brief spell in charge of the Red Devils, but, with a plethora of midfield options at the club already, it’s not a priority position.
Harry Amass
Harry Amass is a young left-back destined for big things at Man United and despite only being 17, is already being touted as a future first-choice star at his current club.
With Luke Thomas out of contract in 2025 and out of the picture at Leicester, Victor Kristiansen is the only first choice left-back available.
Amass would provide good cover at Leicester and even the chance to rotate should the Denmark international suffer a dip in form or an injury.
Marcus Rashford

An ambitious one, but Marcus Rashford wants to leave Man United and needs a fresh start.
Ruben Amorim has left the England international out of the squad in recent weeks and a permanent move is more likely to happen in the summer.
Leicester could never afford his wages permanently but with the forward wanting to play football and the Foxes needing more firepower up top, it’s a move that could make sense for all parties.
