We are now in day 18 of the 2025 January transfer window and Leicester City have so far made one signing.

After a very quiet start, a new player finally arrived at the King Power Stadium this month.

Leicester City signed Woyo Coulibaly from Parma in a £3m deal. The right-back has penned terms on a four-and-half-year contract.

There’s still more happening on the transfer front at Leicester though, and we’ve now rounded up the latest transfer news and rumours.

Leicester City accept bid to sell Tom Cannon

Leicester recalled Tom Cannon from his loan spell in the Championship with Stoke City, whom he scored nine goals for.

Fans probably wanted the striker to ply his trade in the Midlands for the second half of 2024/25 but that’s now looking unlikely.

Leicester have accepted a Sheffield United bid for Cannon, with the Blades willing to pay £13m for the ex-Everton ace.

Leicester City set for cash injection

Losing Cannon isn’t an ideal situation but it does mean their transfer kitty for January will be given a boost.

It was reported this week that Leicester’s transfer budget will be limited in January to around £12-£14m unless players are sold.

The fee for Cannon, as per Nixon, is an initial £10m, and 25 percent of that will be going to Everton, meaning the Foxes will get an extra £7.5m to spend this winter.

Aston Villa plan for Leicester target

Leicester were credited with an interest in Aston Villa man Louie Barry during the last few months of 2024.

Barry was on loan at Stockport County but has been recalled by Unai Emery this month ahead of another transfer.

Aston Villa’s plan for Barry has now been revealed, with it claimed they want to tie him down to a new contract before sanctioning a loan.

Caleb Okoli makes demand

Caleb Okoli only arrived at Leicester over the summer and was a regular start under Steve Cooper.

The centre-back’s seen his game time reduced of late, however, and Okoli has now sent a demand to Van Nistelrooy over his minutes.

Okoli is wanted by Parma so there’s a chance he could leave if his demands are not met in England.
