Leicester City faces a crucial few months as they bid to flawlessly return to the Premier League after being relegated.

Back-to-back defeats for the league leaders have left many around Leicester concerned as to how they respond. While we expect a response to be seen on the pitch this coming weekend against Watford, we also expect January to be an active month for the Foxes.

The January transfer window opens just over a month and Leicester City will already have a list of potential incoming who could boost them over the line and secure the Championship crown.

Enzo Maresca will be keen on improving after some weird decisions in recent games suggested he isn’t totally happy with his options. So here is how we see Leicester lining out post-January.

Maresca’s dream line-up after the January window

Starting off in goal, Mads Hermansen has done everything asked of him this season and more which means he is a sure shot to keep his place. Hermansen is developing so well and is seen as a complete package by many.

At right back, Ricardo Pereria should have done enough to retain his position for the remainder of the season. While on the left, we think ideally Maresca would want Callum Doyle in there, with the long-term vision of trying to sign him in the summer.

In central defence, Jannick Vestergaard who is back to his best, should continue to be partnered by Conor Coady. The two are both experienced heads and offer Maresca so much on the field.

Moving into the midfield we see the first incoming of the season with Albert Gronbaek from Bodo/Glimt a potential signing. The 22-year-old Danish midfielder has been on fire this year and deserves a big move.

Next to the new arrival will be the excellent duo of Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who have been so pivotal for Leicester this season to date.

In the attack, on the right Abdul Fatawu has impressed in recent games and game time will only help him improve further.

On the left, Ben Brereton Diaz who is struggling in Spain seems likely to leave Villareal. Leicester have been credited with interest over the last few weeks and we think he would be an excellent option on the left in rotation with Stephy Mavididi.

This leaves just the striker position to look at. Jamie Vardy is the clear call to make with Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho both seeming to be on their way out.
