Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed what he plans to do with Leicester City’s coaching staff following the recent revelations.

It was announced on Monday that Ben Dawson and Craig Alcock had been sacked by the Foxes.

This comes after Van Nistelrooy has made sporadic changes to the Leicester backroom staff, most recently deciding to appoint Andy King as a first-team coach.

With the pressure ramping up on the Leicester manager, a win against West Ham United on Thursday is vital to the cause.

Now, ahead of the trip to the London Stadium, the Dutchman has provided an update on whether or not Dawson and Alcock will be replaced.

Ruud van Nistelrooy won’t add to Leicester coaching staff

Shortly after joining Leicester, Van Nistelrooy stated that he wouldn’t make changes to his coaching team.

Since then, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, Brian Barry-Murphy and King have all come into the team but despite Dawson and Alcock’s recent departure, the Dutchman confirmed there would be no more incomings.

He told BBC Radio Leicester: “We started working with the current staff, they helped in a great way.

“I also communicated that I wanted to bring my own people in and then you have to look at the roles of the coaches and decide this was the best solution.”

Leicester decision to sack coaches comes three months too late

You can argue that the writing was on the wall for Dawson and Alcock the moment Van Nistelrooy walked through the door.

Unlike Steve Rands, who was sacked and now joined Borussia Dortmund, the duo decided to stay on.

They took charge of Leicester for the 4-1 hammering away at Brentford, which should’ve been alarm bells from the very start.

Results have hardly improved and the fact that both coaches have only just been let go is another sign of Van Nistelrooy being let down by the Leicester owners.

It also epitomises why Jon Rudkin should be sacked and replaced, but it seems that the Dutchman is going to have to continue to do it the hard way.
