Leicester City were smashed 4-0 by Everton on Saturday and Ruud van Nistelrooy has now spoken out after the match.

Normal service well and truly resumed for Leicester City when they made the trip to Goodison Park on February 1st.

The Foxes beat Tottenham 2-1 last Sunday, suggesting a corner may have been turned under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

That really didn’t prove to be the case, however, as Leicester helped Everton set a club record when they scored after just 10 seconds.

The goals continued to fly in for the Toffees who, when all was said and done, secured a 4-0 win over the Foxes.

Leicester have slipped back into the relegation zone and there is much anger around the club.

Ruud van Nistelrooy provides Leicester City transfer update amid Everton verdict

Supporters were left furious at Jon Rudkin yet again during the weekend’s hammering.

And now, Van Nistelrooy has faced the media following what was one of his team’s worst displays all season.

As was to be expected following just one addition so far this month, the former striker was asked about transfers.

His response is unlikely to fill fans with much hope, however, as he simply stated: “We have to wait and see….we’ll try until the last bit.”

Ruud also gave his verdict on the Everton defeat, saying: “It’s a disappointing afternoon. We are better than this….it’s up to us to react again.”

Are Leicester City close to signing anybody

The deadline for the 2025 winter transfer is February 3rd, giving Leicester just over two days to bring in a new player or two.

Currently, there only appears to be one star anywhere close to joining the club as it emerged on Saturday that Leicester have bid for Brazilian winger Alisson.

The 19-year-old has very limited experience, however, and has never played in Europe before.

He’s unlikely to change much at the King Power if he does arrive anyway, as a new centre-back should clearly be the main priority.
