One Leicester City managerial target has been full of praise for one current player in the past.

The Foxes are currently in the pursuit of their next manager to succeed Steve Cooper, who has now been sacked after he left the club in 16th in the Premier League table.

There were many signs pointing Cooper towards the exit door, which came from his unsettled squad as a result of his tactics and bizarre selection choices by exiling some key stars.

With Cooper’s short-lived tenure now having come to its conclusion, many names are being touted as his next replacement, with Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Graham Potter appearing to be the frontrunners. The latter was linked to a move to the King Power in the summer, and easily could be persuaded second time around after what he has previously said about one Leicester City star.

Graham Potter praise for Leicester City star Jamie Vardy could persuade him to join

There is no denying that Jamie Vardy’s fruitful career is one to certainly admire, and Leicester City managerial candidate Potter is one who has noticed the emphatic rise of the Foxes star.

Back in 2021, Potter said in reference to Vardy: “He has been one of the best there is, a Premier League winner.

“Jamie [Vardy] is a master in his movement, a master of his craft, lethal in the box. His movement in behind is so clever, he’s tactically really intelligent.

“He’s had an amazing career and is still performing at the highest level so we know we have a huge task but that is the beauty of the game.”

There is no doubt that Potter would continue to echo these words in the present day, and that he could very easily be persuaded to manage Leicester City for the prospect of managing the former England international.

Graham Potter will be able to get the very best out of Jamie Vardy

For a player at-the age-of-37, there is no doubting that Vardy continuing to perform at a high level in the Premier League is simply mesmerising.

The abilities that the English talisman is still displaying, paired with the enthusiasm Cooper has for him could be a brilliant combination for getting the very best out of Vardy, and that is something that will be necessary if they are to claw themselves towards safety.

It is likely that Cooper would utilise a 4-2-3-1 formation if he was brought into the side, and that it would be set up to utilise Vardy efficiently, with him being the main vocal point of the side.

Potter has already bookmarked Vardy’s brilliant abilities in running in-behind the defence, and he would programme his side to make the very most of that.
