It’s building up to be a thrilling end to the transfer window for Leicester City who still have plenty of business to complete.
Ruud van Nistelrooy wanted to improve four key positions this month, including a new right-back, left-sided centre-back, winger and striker.
The first of those areas was addressed with the signing of Woyo Coulibaly, who joined a 4.5-year contract from Serie A side Parma.
But the other three positions still need reinforcements, with Leicester showing an interest in striker Chuba Akpom from Ajax.
Van Nistelrooy knows that arming his squad with improvements in defence and attack can be the catalyst for survival. However, incomings aren’t his only concern, and the Dutchman could see more players leave the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City block AS Monaco’s transfer swoop for Wilfred Ndidi
Leicester have seen two players leave the club this month. Tom Cannon sealed a £10m transfer to Sheffield United while academy graduate Hamza Choudhury also joined the Blades on loan.
The duo saw joining the Championship promotion chasers as an opportunity to play regular football, something that wasn’t guaranteed under Van Nistelrooy.
Choudhury and Cannon, however, aren’t the only two exits that could happen this month, as midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with a move away.
According to Africa Foot, AS Monaco were serious in their intention to sign the Nigerian but Wonder Sports, who are Ndidi’s agent, have backed Leicester’s decision to block the move.
“They [Monaco] enquired about the status of Wilfred and were serious in their intention to present their offer,” a Wonder Sports source said.
“They have contacted us and his club, but Leicester feel he is still an integral part of their team. We didn’t object because we respect Leicester, but we also think it’s the right decision.”
This news comes as a boost to Van Nistelrooy, who will be excited about his star midfielder returning to action.
Wilfred Ndidi injury latest
Ndidi has been out injured since December’s 2-2 draw against Brighton, suffering a hamstring injury in the Dutchman’s second game in charge.
It’s been over a month now since the 28-year-old last played for Leicester but luckily, supporters may not have to wait too long before he makes his return.
Speaking before Leicester’s 2-1 win over Tottenham, Van Nistelrooy revealed that Ndidi could be drafted into first-team training this week.
In the battle against relegation, Ndidi’s return to the starting lineup will be huge as he’s instrumental to winning the engine room battle.
