Leicester City are set to let a player leave the club this month who once had a bright future but is now flopping at the King Power.
The Foxes have already confirmed one exit during the 2025 winter transfer window with Tom Cannon joining Sheffield United in a £10m deal.
Leicester City fans were furious at Cannon’s exit as the striker had scored nine goals while on loan at Stoke City in the first half of 2024/25.
Meanwhile, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s current centre-forward options are an ageing Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Odsonne Edouard – the latter of which doesn’t even get selected for matchday squads.
While the Cannon transfer left a bitter taste in supporter’s mouths, another exit that’s likely to be confirmed in the coming days should not sting as much.

Hamza Choudhury set for Sheffield United medical
The player in question is Hamza Choudhury, whose future has been called into doubt over the last few weeks.
Reports earlier this month linked Sheffield United with Choudhury, with it claimed that the midfielder could have joined the Blades earlier in the window.
News of the midfielder’s exit has died down over the last week but he now looks set to departe very soon.
Journalist Andy Giddings reported the news via X/Twitter, with Chris Wilder confirming a player will undergo a medical at Sheffield United on Saturday.
He wrote: “Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder told RS that they will begin a medical with a player tomorrow that they’d hoped to sign before today’s game. Understand that player to be Hamza Choudhury.”

Hamza Choudhury flopped at Leicester City
The 27-year-old is a product of the Foxes’ academy and has been on their books for nearly a decade now.
Speaking back in 2019, as per Leicestershire Live, Sky Sports pundit Liam Rosenior compared Choudhury to iconic Manchester City midfielder, Fernandinho.
He said: “He’s been absolutely outstanding at this all season, he’s someone who I first really enjoyed watching at Burton on loan and I didn’t know if he was going to break into Leicester’s team but credit to Claude Peul, credit Brendan Rodgers, I love seeing young players get chances and he is so important to this England team because they have nobody else there to win the ball back.”
“You look at Manchester City when Fernandinho is out of the team, they’re not the same team. Those ball-winning midfield players who can dictate the ball and make passes into forward areas are crucial. Choudhury has that role.”
Despite huge promise earlier in his career though, Choudhury has really struggled at Leicester this season.
He’s made just four Premier League appearances for a total of 130 minutes and was woeful in his one start against Newcastle United.
