Leicester City’s wait to sign a player looks like it’s finally coming to an end.

The Foxes have been working hard behind the scenes in the opening 12 days of the transfer window but have failed to land any of their targets.

A defender has been at the top of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s shopping list and recently missed out on Max Aarons, who is set to join Valencia.

But, there is positive news regarding one target after he was left out of his side’s squad ahead of his pending move to the King Power Stadium.

Woyo Coulibaly left out of Parma squad ahead of Leicester transfer

Woyo Coulibaly has been linked with Leicester for some time and reports from Di Marzio on Friday claimed that the full-back had said his goodbyes ahead of his move to Leicester.

Coulibaly is currently playing for Serie A outfit Parma but the full-back looks almost certain to be moving to Leicester after he was left out of the Italian side’s squad for their defeat against Genoa.

He did miss last weekend’s game through illness and it could be the same again, but given recent developments, there is every chance that he is gearing up for his move to the East Midlands.

Van Nistelrooy was coy when asked about Coulibaly after Saturday’s win against Queens Park Rangers, stating that he wouldn’t comment on any signings until they had joined the Foxes.

How much will Woyo Coulibaly cost Leicester City?

It’s no secret that Leicester are walking on a tightrope when it comes to their current financial situation.

Ongoing profit and sustainability fears mean that the Foxes are identifying cheap full-backs as part of their January recruitment.

Coulibaly’s contract expires in 2025 and he is set to join for a cheap fee believed to be in the region of £3m.

He can operate as a right-back and a left-back but is expected to be brought in as the main competitor to James Justin, who has come under fire from Foxes fans this season.
