Leicester City look like their going to end their transfer deadline day without a signing, but they already have one eye set on the future.

The Foxes have made one signing this month and although links have been been prominent throughout the window, no new faces appear to be coming in.

A swap deal involving Craig Dawson and Conor Coady with Wolves was discussed, however, Sky Sports soon confirmed that Leicester had pulled out of a deal.

Elsewhere, the Foxes rejected an offer from Kasey McAteer from Sunderland and that’s the only deal that could still rumble on.

The lack of activity hasn’t stopped though and one defender may be heading to the King Power Stadium in the summer.

Leicester could approach out of contract Jordan Torunarigha

A defender is one of Leicester’s priorities and whilst the likes of Strahinja Pavlovic and Velez Sarsfield centre-back Valentin Gomez.

None of those have come to avail, likewise with the deal to sign Craig Dawson, but one player who could join is centre-back Jordan Torunarigha.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at Belgian club Gent in the summer, where has been since 2022, and decided not to renew terms.

According to Africa Foot, the centre-back has his eyes set on a top five league in Europe, with both Leicester and Augsburg keen on a transfer.

Torunarigha may be put off by Leicester’s chances of Premier League survival, with the Foxes currently inside the relegation zone.

Any move now would be very unlikely, but there could be an outside chance of him joining in the summer.

Will Leicester City sign anyone on transfer deadline day?

In simple terms: No.

Well, it’s almost certain that nobody will join. Rob Tanner said incomings were unlikely in the morning and it appears that it will stay that way.

Leicester fans reacted angrily to Tanner’s update and question marks will be asked about the Leicester hierarchy after Ruud van Nistelrooy identified four key positions to improve in.

A new defender was one of the top priorities and even though Torunarigha fits that bill, a four-five month wait for his arrival may be the case.
