The transfer window opens in less than 24 hours and Leicester City are likely to be one of the busiest clubs.

The Foxes will have until 3 February to complete any deals and change their squad for the final time.

This will be Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first opportunity to add to his squad, as well as ship off anyone he deems surplus to requirements.

Centre-backs appear to be Leicester’s priority whilst a forward also seems to be on the club’s shopping list.

Luke Thomas and Danny Ward are among the Leicester stars out of contract in 2025 and could be sold for a cut-price fee and Hamza Choudhury is another who could leave the Foxes.

There are plenty of transfer news and rumours that have come about in the last 24 hours and Leicester City News has it all covered right here.

Leicester want Valentin Gomez

Leicester appear to be looking away from England for their options this winter and have even gone away from Europe to see if they can unearth a gem.

Valentin Gomez has been linked with the Foxes and fits that criteria. The 21-year-old Velez Sarsfield defender has ambitions of moving to Europe and was voted as the best defender of the year by Argentina ESPN.

Gomez also won the league title with Velez and the Argentine youth international could be available for anywhere between £8-£10m.

Adilson Malanda tipped for Leicester move despite signing new contract

Another defender currently playing outside of Europe on Leicester’s radar is Charlotte FC star Adilson Malanda.

Despite signing a new contract with the MLS franchise earlier this year, Malanda has been described as a “quiet leader” and is one of the most exciting prospects in US football.

Malanda moved to Charlotte two seasons ago after impressing in the lower divisions of France and a move closer to home and to the Premier League may appeal to the centre-back.

Chancel Mbemba and Lilian Brassier could both be heading to Leicester

Ligue 1 centre-backs seem to be the priority for Leicester this winter and two of them linked with a move to the King Power Stadium play for the same club.

Chancel Mbemba is reportedly wanted by Van Nistelrooy and is yet to feature for Marseille in the 2024/25 campaign.

Mbemba’s contract also expires in June 2025 and given that the Frenchman has previous Premier League experience, he could be a shrewd pick up for a minimal fee.

His teammate Lilian Brassier is also wanted by Leicester. Brassier is on loan from fellow French top flight side Brest but is apparently keen on remaining with Roberto De Zerbi’s side, who are second in the table.

Leicester to rival Premier League clubs for £25m star Abdukodir Khusanov

The most ambitious, but most unlikely, of the links in recent days is Abdukodir Khusanov.

Khusanov could cost Leicester £25m but he is considered to be one of the best young defenders in France and could go on to become one of the best in the world.

His price tag could be a stumbling block and the 20-year-old is wanted by other Premier League clubs but should Leicester complete a deal, he would become the first Uzbek international to play in the top flight of England.
