Gary Lineker in agreement with Match of the Day pundit after Leicester avoided controversial decision in Everton hammering

After the highs of the win against Tottenham Hotspur last week it was immediately back to the lows as Leicester City were hammered in embarrassing fashion.

The Foxes were beaten 4-0 by Everton and if truth be told, it could’ve been a lot worse.

Leicester allowed Everton to create history as Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring just seconds after kick off.

John Rudkin was at the centre of fan frustration once again as the travelling supporters inside Goodison Park were heard calling for him to go.

There were next to no positives to take from the game for the Foxes and according to Gary Lineker and the Match of the Day team, they were lucky it didn’t get worse.

Everton could’ve had penalty in Leicester win

One of the stars of the show for the hosts was Portuguese striker Beto, who marked his return to the starting XI with two goals.

He could’ve had a third though and has every right to feel hard done by after referee Darren Bond failed to award a penalty for a foul by Jannik Vestergaard on the on-rushing Beto when the score was 2-0.

Looking back at the incident, Lineker and pundit Shay Given felt that Bond got the decision wrong.

“I think this was a little bit lucky, Leicester might have gotten away with one there. But Beto was really strong,” said Given.

“I would say so, yes,” Lineker replied.

Leicester City must supply Ruud van Nistelrooy with new signings

Whilst he must take some responsibility for the shocking defeat, the loss at Everton showed how Ruud van Nistelrooy hasn’t been supported in this transfer window.

Only one player has joined Leicester this month and right now, with deadline day less than 24 hours away, there seems to be no sign of any incomings.

Van Nistelrooy spoke about transfers after the loss but didn’t seem too confident of any new faces coming to the King Power Stadium.

Before joining, Van Nistelrooy said he wanted four new players to join the Foxes.

Time is running out and if he doesn’t get what he needs, the Leicester boss could repeat history and leave.
