Leicester City have been dealt yet another blow in their pursuit of a Steve Cooper replacement.
Leicester City let Steve Cooper go on Sunday evening amid a pretty torrid start to the 2024/25 campaign.
The former Nottingham Forest coach was always going to struggle to follow in Enzo Maresca’s footsteps but few likely predicted just how badly the 46-year-old would fare.
Cooper fell out with several Leicester players during his brief stint in the Midlands, leaving the club sat dangerously close to the relegation zone ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

With a replacement now needed, a whole host of managers have been linked with the role.
However, Graham Potter has already turned down the Leicester job, while former West Ham United boss David Moyes is out of the running as well.
Another EFL manager is also seemingly not going to be gracing the King Power with his presence anytime soon.

Leicester City have no chance of signing Michael Carrick
Former Manchester United star turned Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is among the many names being touted as a potential option.
Leicester fans made their feelings on Carrick clear recently, with some even going as far as to brand the Englishman a ‘genius’.
However, Teesside Live have now all but ended any hope that the ex-midfielder will be replacing Cooper.
It is claimed that while Carrick is being monitored by the Foxes, no official approach has been made and sources close to Middlesbrough believe a move has ‘no chance of happening’.
Carrick would have brought an exciting brand of attacking football to the Midlands but it appears Leicester will have to look elsewhere in their managerial search.

Who will replace Steve Cooper as Leicester City manager
With Carrick joining Potter and Moyes in being ruled out of taking the job, the Foxes’ potential list of replacements is running thin.
Leicester have approached Ruud van Nistelrooy and there has been an exciting update regarding the Dutchman recently.
We understand that Van Nistelrooy is pushing to replace Cooper but Hamburger SV are also interested in the ex-striker.
Elsewhere, Carlos Corberan is being considered by Leicester after turning West Bromwich Albion into promotion contenders.
He may not bring the most exciting style of play to the club but with time and options running short, the Spaniard may be creeping up the Leicester hierarchy’s priority list.
