Leicester City managed nine signings in the summer window as they look to prepare for the Premier League.
This summer there were very many worries about the state of Leicester City’s squad and how it would look following the summer transfer window.
They managed to eventually find answers to most of their problems in the window, and that was characterised by the Deadline Day business conducted by Steve Cooper and the board to ensure key positions were filled amid worries about squad depth.
Whilst Leicester City have far from had a brilliant window, there was every chance that it could have turned out much worse for the Foxes, and they appear to have turned around their fortunes in the last week and managed to get deals done for key players.
Following the conclusion of transfer Deadline Day, there are certain things that stand out about Leicester City’s transfer dealings.

Leicester City have done well to add necessary striker depth late on
His arrival was late on in the summer transfer window, however Leicester City have done very well to secure the loan signing of Odsonne Edouard from fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Him, alongside the permanent deal to bring in Jordan Ayew are both shrewd deals and their Premier League experience will certainly be beneficial for Cooper’s side, and it lowers the urgency and issues surrounding depth in the position amid the long term injury sustained by Patson Daka.
There is a notable lack of quality goalkeepers in the squad
Leicester City did not make a single goalkeeper signing throughout the entire summer, leaving the only notable options as Mads Hermansen, Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, something that will not exactly inspire Leicester City fans with confidence.
For the Championship, they would prove to solid goalkeeper options, however the necessary changes following promotion have unfortunately not been identified in this position, and it could potentially be costly for the Foxes.
Managed to add creativity to the side after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall departure
The window got off to the worst possible start after the untimely departure of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who signed for Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea, and there was a clear inability to replace the midfielder in the early stages.
However, Cooper has done well to bring in the likes of Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton, as well as the exciting permanent deal to sign Moroccan international Bilal El Khannouss.
El Khannouss in particular is one for the future for Leicester City, and the signing of the youngster made sense for the Foxes in a financial sense, with him undoubtedly set to at least double in value if he has a brilliant breakthrough Premier League season.

Inability to move on Wout Faes could be costly
Belgian international defender Wout Faes made it abruptly clear that he was currently unhappy at Leicester City due to the lack of transfer activity at the club, which didn’t give him any confidence in the Foxes’ quest to stay up this season.
Whilst Faes is a solid defender to have around the squad due to his quality, as well as the lack of depth in the position, it could prove costly continuing to have him in-and-around the squad as a result of his disdain shown towards the club during the window, and Cooper certainly won’t want this spilling into the other players.
Full-back options are very light
Another position where Leicester City easily could have made much more significant progress is at full-back.
Whilst options aren’t too bad at left-back, with the likes of James Justin and Victor Kristiansen, on the right flank there are very few options for Cooper to turn towards.
This could be costly for Leicester City this season, and although they have Hamza Choudhury as a potential back-up who can somewhat slot into the right-back position, there quality simply isn’t there in the position and that could prove to be detrimental to Cooper’s season.
