Leicester City are still searching for a new manager after sacking Steve Cooper on Sunday.

So far, the Foxes’ search for a new coach after they sacked Steve Cooper has been pretty tough.

A number of managers have already been ruled out of the race to become the new Leicester City boss.

After being linked over the summer before Cooper arrived, Graham Potter has turned down the Leicester job once more this month.

Former West Ham United and Everton coach David Moyes will not be joining the Midlands outfit either.

Elsewhere, it was reported on Tuesday that Leicester have no chance of signing Michael Carrick from Middlesbrough.

However, we provided an exclusive update recently confirming that Lee Carsley could be in contention for the Leicester job.

Carsley has worked closely with England since 2020, taking charge of the U20, U21, and senior side in that time.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at three English stars whom the 50-year-old has worked with that he could bring to Leicester if he replaces Cooper.

Max Aarons

So far this season, full-back has been a real problem area for the Foxes.

James Justin has been poor for Leicester, with a disproportionate number of their goals conceded coming down the right flank.

In turn, a new full-back should be high on the list of any incoming manager and Max Aarons is a player Carsley knows well from his time in charge of the Young Lions.

The 24-year-old is currently on the books of Bournemouth but with just one appearance to his name in 2024/25 so far, the Premier League outfit could be open to a January exit.

James McAtee

Another exciting English gem, James McAtee played 16 times for Carsley at U21 level, scoring six goals.

The Manchester City youngster should already be well-known to Foxes fans given his recent links to the club.

Leicester tried to sign McAtee in 2023 and even had him at their training ground just before the transfer window slammed shut.

That move did not come to pass but it was reported earlier this month, while Cooper was still in charge, that Leicester were monitoring McAtee again.

Morgan Whittaker

Once the January transfer window opens, the right-wing is another position that will need to be addressed at Leicester.

Abdul Fatawu has been ruled out for the season, leaving the Foxes very short of quality options out wide.

However, Plymouth Argyle winger Morgan Whittaker could be an excellent replacement for the injured star.

The 23-year-old has been superb for the struggling Championship outfit over the last two campaigns and looks ready to make the step up to the Premier League.

Carsley has a reputation for developing younger players and may be the perfect coach to further Whittaker’s development.
