One step forward, two steps back. That’s what Leicester City’s defeat to Everton felt like.
The Foxes travelled to Goodison Park hoping to build off their vital win away at Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Instead, everything unravelled as Leicester allowed Everton to create history before they raced into a 3-0 lead at half time.
A 4-0 hammering combined with Wolves’ win against Aston Villa saw Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side slip back into the bottom three and undo all of their hard work.

It’s eight losses in nine games now and whilst the travelling Leicester fans pointed the fingers at John Rudkin, it was the players who let them down.
How the Leicester players reacted on social media to Everton loss
Plenty of the players were apologetic on social media after the dismal performance including Mads Hermansen, who had a nightmare return to the team.
He wrote on Instagram: “Absolutely nowhere near where we need to be. We go again. Thanks for your support.”
Victor Kristiansen also commented, adding: “Can’t let games slip this easy.. big opportunity wasted. Can’t happen at this level. Thank you for the support to the traveling fans.”
Not many of the fans were sympathetic, however, with many calling out the players for their lack of performance and effort during the game.
Will Leicester City sign anyone?
It’s clear that fresh faces are needed at the club, but there isn’t a lot of time left to do business.
At the time of writing there are less than 24 hours to go until transfer deadline day begins.
Woyo Coulibaly joined for £3m and reports have suggested that Leicester have bid for Brazilian winger Alisson.
Right now though, nobody looks closer to coming through the door and after Ruud van Nistelrooy’s transfer update didn’t fill fans with optimism, it could be a long end to the season.
