Leicester City are going to have a busy transfer window in the summer.

Three Leicester players are out of contract and look set to depart for free whilst there’s a handful of first-team names that could also head for the exit door at the King Power Stadium.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was only able to sign one player in the January transfer window, despite the Foxes boss identifying four key positions to improve.

A host of names have been linked with moves away in the months building up to the window, where Leicester should hopefully have money to spend after treading on the edge of caution due to profit and sustainability concerns.

Still, it’s likely that players will head for the exit door and so, with that, here are seven names that are tipped to depart – excluding the two loanees, Facundo Buonanotte and Odsonne Edouard.

Seven Leicester players set to leave in summer transfer window

Danny Ward

Danny Ward is one of those that already has his future sealed.

Ward hasn’t played since being criticised against Wolves after a disappointing display in goal.

Van Nistelrooy defended Ward but he hasn’t played since after the Leicester ‘keeper asked to be dropped.

His contract expires in the summer and it’s best for all parties if he starts afresh.

Daniel Iversen

The second goalkeeper on this list, Daniel Iversen is in a similar predicament to Ward.

Iversen hasn’t kicked a ball for the Foxes this season and now that he is approaching the latter years of his 20s. needs to play regularly.

Lots of Championship clubs will no doubt be interested in his services and he can find a good move for himself.

Mads Hermansen

Mads Hermansen is the highest-profile departure on the list.

Despite keeping one clean sheet all season, it’s fair to say Leicester would be a lot worse without their Danish star and former Leicester boss Enzo Maresca is keen on signing Hermansen.

Leicester’s relegation dogfight will determine how much they receive for him, but a big-name departure is inevitable and he is the most obvious one.

Conor Coady

Conor Coady was involved in a potential swap deal that would’ve seen him return to Wolves in January before talks quickly died down.

Leeds United have been linked with Coady who is sitting on inflated wages and nothing more than a bit-part player at the Foxes.

The defender may have experience, but lacks the genuine quality to help Leicester.

Hamza Choudhury

Nobody wants to see Leicester academy stars go, but the time has come for Hamza Choudhury to move onto pastures new.

Choudhury excelled on his Sheffield United debut and with the Blades in the hunt for an immediate return to the Premier League, there is every chance he could be a part of that promotion journey.

Chris Wilder is also a huge fan of the Bangladesh international having managed him at Watford. A successful loan spell at Bramall Lane will no doubt turn into a permanent one if they achieve their goal.

Jordan Ayew

A name many didn’t expect to see on this list.

At the time of writing, Jordan Ayew is Leicester’s joint-second top scorer this season with five goals.

However, Ayew is 33-years-old and from watching on, looks like his legs are going with each week that goes by.

Ayew has earned the title of super-sub but seems to start more often than not. His wages will be high but they could still fetch a small fee for the wide man.

Patson Daka

It feels like a real shame with this one as there was so much promise when Patson Daka joined in 2021.

Many believed he would be the long-term successor to Jamie Vardy but still, four years on, he can’t get in ahead of the Foxes legend.

He’s only scored one goal this season but will still hold some value and could rediscover his touch elsewhere.
